I am Ioan Runcan from Arad, but everyone knows me as ION (ask Pope Benedict about Ion ;) ) I'm doing tattoos for some years, well i obviously started as most people do, i tattooed my dad, then myself, then the entire neighbourhood, and then i got a "professional" tattoo machine and believed that i would be professional. It is an interesting phase of my life in which i learned pretty much everything i know about tattoos, the only thing that i would change, would be to repair all the "professional" tattoos that i've done in my room. I can say that i am a professional for 2 years, and in the last 3 or 4 months i started tattooing in my licensed parlour: ArteSano TATTOO from Spain.
I make tattoos, i am trying to become a tattoo artist, but i am confident that in time i will accomplish this. What characterizes me, for which i am proud, is that i try to make each tattoo as best as possible, as if it would be for me. I can deal with any style, any theme, any part of the body and i like doing "custom" work, my shop is a "custom" shop, but when asked i also do the classical "tribals" and "chinese letters".
I am not yet satisfied by the quality of my works, but as long as my clients are, my evolution will continue.

I'm 43 years old, I'm from Bucharest. I first came in contact with this art back in 1980 when I've done the first tattoo. I like to believe that i took up this profession in order to do something of a better quality in Romania. There is always an "unfortunately" and a "luckily", I'm saying "unfortunately" because I still hear questions like "How much does a tattoo cost?", "What's fashionable now, what's trendy?" (once again I would like to mention that tattoos are not a fashion current, this is the beauty of this art, that it has never been, nor will it be a trend). Regarding the question "How much does a tattoo cost?", I'll alwyas answer, as up till now, with another question: "How much does a car cost?". About "luckily", the romanians have a sense of estethic highly developed and I can notice a change for the better in the personality of each individual. We have to combine our forces, to do more than pushing the ink under the skin, I, for one, concider myself moraly obligated towards this art and towards those that embrace it, to also provide explications about what the art of tattoo stands for, in whole, so that everyone would be able to find the image best representing her/him. I was born in 1982 in Botosani and started tattooing about 8 years ago but with no noticeble evolvment, untill 2 years ago when thanks to few of my friends I started learning and developing my skills in tattooing to a more proffesional level than before, I bought my self a proffesional tattoo machine and started "painting my friends" after a while i got a job at a tattoo shop here in Iasi and graduate started to learn more and more about this artform. I love all styules but i especially like working "new school" type, i don't quite like the kanjy lettering and tribal work i think they are quite booring and they do not represent nothing, but "what do i know" it's just my oppinion. Salut! Is Attila din '80, si fac tatuaje din 98. Am trecut prin mai multe scoli, de la generala la facultate, nu le enumar ca nu are prea mult rost! am inceput sa fac tatuaje la prieteni, api am inceput sa ma implic din ce in ce mai mult, si intr-un final, am deschis cu Icon studioul BizzzArt unde si in moment ne desfasuram activitatea! Imi place sa fac tatuaje frumoase, cu toate ca nu tot timpul mi se cer! Cel putin pentru mine sa iti faci "litere chinezesti" nu inseamna arta! pacat ca se mai cer, dar cum se zice: "gusturile nu se discuta". Daca este posibil atunci vorbesc cu clientul, ma interesez cam ce i-ar placea sa poarte, si pe cat posibil incerc sa ii fac un tatuaj unicat, adica "custom" cum se zice p'afara! Si asha decurg lucrurile in mod ideal.... Ce stiluri imi plac? pai biomecanic, ornamentistica, si fotorealist dar nu portrete (asta ii terenul de joaca al lui Icon), ash putea spune ca mai toate stilurile! si ca si incheiere un sfat: stiu ca nu e la moda sa asculti de sfaturile altora, dar in cazul unui tatuaj, va-s sfatuii sa tzinetzi totush cont de ce va zice artistul, referitor la marime , pozitzionare etc
